What is RF Heat Sealing / RF Welding?

Do you have a product that you need to fabricate from two or more sheets of plastic materials? The preferred method of sealing two or more plastic sheets of material is RF Heat Sealing or RF Welding. RF Welding can also be reffered to as Dielectric Sealing and Electronic Heat Sealing. The sheets of material can vary from thin sheets to very rigid plastic products. The RF Heat Sealing Machine consists of a lower platen (sometimes heated) and an upper heated platen. You mount your RF Sealing Die to either the upper or lower platen to RF Seal your product. When the machine is activated, the upper platen comes down and makes contact with the lower platen and the die is then activated with RF Energy to RF Seal your materials together. The RF Heat Sealing Machine utilizes a combination of heat, pressure and RF Energy to RF Seal your products together. The RF Energy that is applied to the materials in the shape of the RF Die, activates the polar molecules of the plastic sheets of material, combining them to become one. The result is a RF Seal that is stronger than the actual material itself.
